INSURANCE

Students are provided with two medical insurance policies while they are in Switzerland: 1) a global policy through the insurance provider GeoBlue and 2) a global policy through the insurance provided Allianz. The GeoBlue policy is provided to all international programs students at Pepperdine. The Allianz policy is available only to Pepperdine Switzerland program students in accordance with Swiss legal insurance mandates.

For practical purposes, the GeoBlue policy is used for all counseling-related treatments. The Allianz policy is used for all other medical treatments. For further details on terms of coverage or reimbursements, please email anais.perez@pepperdine.edu.

meDICAL AbsenceS

If you are seriously ill and believe your ability to attend class is impaired, please go see the program assistant (sophie.peeters2@pepperdine.edu) to describe your illness and what classes you might potentially miss. Make sure you contact her before your class or you will be counted as absent.

IP ABSENCE POLICY

All absences, despite the circumstances, totaling more than one hour in a 1 unit class, three hours in a 3 unit class, and four hours in any 4 unit class, automatically lower the final grade by one half of a letter grade (i.e., from an A- to a B+).  Each successive absence will in turn lower the grade by an additional one half of a letter grade.

Tardy policy

4 partial misses, regardless of how little the time portion is, count as 1 absence.
