ALPINE HUTS

Founded in 1863, the Swiss Alpine Club has been a dynamic force in developing the Alpine region and climbing. Based on this tradition, the organization is an advocate of responsible mountain sports and extensive access to mountain areas. The SAC maintains over 150 alpine huts, ranging from very large to small, across a spectrum of accessibility. You can inquire about staying in one of these huts as your main destination or as a stop on longer treks.

To search across all of SAC Alpine huts, go to the following website: www.sac-cas.ch/en/huts/search-a-hut.html. you can find location information, amenities, and contact information for each hut keeper.

Please note that many of these huts are in extremely isolated and exposed regions of very high altitude. Anyone traveling to one of these huts should be prepared for unpredictable weather and potential danger.
