Missing Items

Missing something?

Sometimes items go missing. It is difficult to tell if a student misplaced it temporarily, lost it permanently, or if it was stolen. The Switzerland Program is particularly sensitive to accusations of theft because it the easiest reason to cite but the most difficult to prove (furthermore, this potentially puts blame on roommates, other students, or housekeeping staff).

The university cannot be responsible for missing items.

In the event that something is missing, students are responsible to:

  1. Ensure they never leave their items in public spaces, like bathrooms, classrooms, the library, study areas, etc.

  2. Return items to their closets.

  3. Store valuables in their individual safe or the program’s safe.

  4. Immediately change their loads of laundry and return clothing items to their armoire.

If you are missing an item, please go through these steps:

  1. Search EVERYWHERE. Don’t just look where you think the item was last. Search your space in your room, then search the entire room, and ask your roommates if they have seen the item. Search the bathrooms you use, the classrooms, the Dining Hall, and elsewhere.

  2. Post on the program’s WhatsApp group.

If you still cannot locate it, please submit this form immediately with as much information as you can provide. The program staff will then continue to look for it!
